Job Description: Assistant Sales Manager – Dairy Equipment Products (U.P., Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam)
Position Overview:
The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing client relationships in the states of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Assam. This role focuses on promoting dairy equipment products, including Farm management products, Milk logistic system, milk procurement systems (Weighing scale, Analyser’s, Printers etc.) and automation technologies (at Bulk Milk collection system, Value added product & Dispatch section), to dairy farms, Milk collection centres & societies, cooperatives, private labels, and processors. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, sales acumen, and regional market knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development:
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the assigned territories.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including dairy farms, cooperatives, private players and key influencers & consultant.
2. Customer Engagement:
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the benefits of dairy equipment.
• Negotiate terms and close deals to maximize revenue.
3. Market Research and Insights:
• Gather market intelligence on customer needs, competitor activities, and regional industry trends & it’s influences.
• Provide regular feedback to the sales manager and product development teams.
4. Dealer and Channel Management:
• Appoint, train, and manage dealers/distributors in the assigned regions/district.
• Ensure dealer networks meet sales and service expectations.
• Monitor dealer performance and provide support to improve outcomes.
5. Coordination and Reporting:
• Collaborate with service teams to ensure seamless installation, training, and after-sales support.
• Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and plans for the assigned territories.
• Attend trade fairs and events to represent the company and generate leads.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Dairy Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in dairy equipment, agricultural machinery, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of dairy Industry, processes, and equipment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a geographically dispersed territory.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Assam.
• Proficiency in regional languages (Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Assamese) is an advantage.
